Granite Tile Countertops Poised To Take Laminate Market Share

Art Duy, inventor of the Quarazon® panel system, envisions his breakthrough in tile assembly to set a new standard for granite tile countertops.  As a general contractor with over 35 years experience in the construction industry, Art has gained an understanding of how to solve problems.  “As a general contractor remodeling and reselling homes, I always looked for value. Everyone wanted granite countertops so I needed to accommodate.  I got tired of granite fabricators bidding outrageous prices and felt the need to find a solution…granite tile with tighter seams and eliminating the grout.”

After 11 years of perfecting this unique method and performing over 3,000 countertop installations in the Greater Salt Lake Area, Art feels his product will be “the future of granite tile countertops.”

Tile panels, up to approximately 18 square feet, are constructed outside the home for installation.  An array of granite tile, mounted on ½” cement fiber board, are bonded together with special polyester stone adhesives resulting in a seam that is barely visible.  
Art goes on to say “Not only are our seams tighter than what can be done with conventionally set tile, they are also flatter.  Benefits realized with our method save considerable time and materials resulting in savings to our customers.”  

The Quarazon® panel system is an environmentally friendly countertop.  With a waste factor of approximately 3%, water consumption less than 3 gallons per average kitchen and countertop facilities located nearer to the project, key environmental issues present with conventional granite counters have been solved.

Finally, the beauty of this innovative method is price.  Taking direct aim at the laminate market, projected by the Freedonia study group to be 430 million square feet annually, granite tile countertops will be priced below laminate.
