Join them at Louis Valentino Park to kayak and have fun!
The Global Autism Project is a non-profit organization that builds local capacity to create sustainable centers of excellence for individuals with autism in under-resourced areas worldwide. Current projects are in Ghana, India and Kenya. The Paddle for Autism Awareness New York is one of six Paddles being held across the United States. It is an event where kids with autism, community members and local schools come and get the opportunity to try kayaking, often for the first time. There will be instructors on hand to assist the paddlers. In addition to kayaking there will be food, entertainment and other fun activities. This year the Paddle for Autism Awareness is going to be held in Brooklyn on August 6th. “I couldn’t be more excited to be hosting the Paddle in New York again this year” said Molly Ola Pinney, Founder and CEO of the Global Autism Project. This event raises money for the Global Autism Project by paddlers getting sponsored by family and friends, though there is no minimum amount per paddler that needs to be raised. All of the proceeds from the event will go to the Global Autism Project, its international partners, and local beneficiaries. To volunteer, register a group of 10 paddlers, or for more information visit the Paddle for Autism Awareness website at http://globalautismproject.org/ End
