Free Running Fashion Show to Take On McArthurGlen East Midlands

Aug. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- This August, a number of high energy, thrill seeking fashion shows will be held at McArthurGlen’s East Midlands Designer Outlet as part of ‘Urban Life and Style’ month.

Focusing on how to achieve standout style in today’s active world, Urban Life and Style will feature action packed fashion shows to highlight the fantastic collection of sports, outdoor clothing and urban fashion brands which offer up to 60 per cent less all year round.
Kenny Murray, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen’s East Midlands Designer Outlet, says: “The centre is already popular with shoppers who favour high fashion at up to 60% less and love the variety of brands, such as Aquascutum, Calvin Klein, Phase Eight and more. Urban Life and Style is a great way to showcase our fantastic range of urban and youth brands and treat shoppers to something exciting and a little bit different.”

On Thursday 11th August, free running professional performance team 3RUN will start the month off with an adrenaline boost by performing a fashion show from new heights at the centre.

The 3RUN team have an impressive list of achievements under their belt, including featuring in the box office smash hit Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, commercials for Microsoft Xbox and smashing a number of Guinness World Records.

Sam Parham, Co-Director and member of 3RUN, says, “We’re really excited to introduce the audience at McArthurGlen East Midlands to something different: a high impact free running performance and fashion show. Our stunt techniques will wow the crowds and we hope to inspire shoppers to be confident in their individual street style.”

McArthurGlen East Midlands will present the UK’s first ever free running fashion show between 12 and 4pm, where shoppers can catch a glimpse of 3RUN’s exciting act and continue shopping into the evening with late night opening hours on Thursdays. Spectators will also have the opportunity to get involved in the adrenaline-fuelled fun and try free running for themselves in a series of short workshops on the day.

Kicking off with 3RUN modelling Levis, all of the Urban Life and Style performers will be dressed in some of the premium brands available at McArthurGlen’s East Midlands such as Ben Sherman, Bench, Calvin Klein and Gap Outlet.

There will be a number of Urban Life and Style events for shoppers throughout August.
Key dates to look out for:

•   Thursday 18th August - In-line skating expert and former Action Sports World Champion Jenna Downing leads female trio, Team Extreme, to perform big air tricks and stylish stunts on skateboards and scooters.

•   Thursday 25th August - a Power Bocker display as seen in the closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games where performers jump and run with spring loaded stilts.
