Aug. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, NY (August 10, 2011) – The Alphabet City Dolly Film Festival will make its debut in the always eclectic East Village on August 11th, 12th and 13th, from noon to 9 PM daily.  The 3-day party will combine the revelry of a pub-crawl with the non-stop entertainment of a movie-marathon at a price that can't be beat, less than $20 a day plus cocktail.

The unique "pop-up" is brainchild of Kareem Rogers, Jeffrey Jean-Baptiste and Jean-Pierre Adéchi, the founders of the fresh young production company Authorized Dealer Films, who want to support aspiring directors, artists, and producers and neighborhood businesses while introducing a new wave of original films to the ever discerning public.

Guests will have the chance to chill out over a complimentary cocktail at more than a dozen trendy lounges, bars and restaurants while enjoying more than 30 original features, documentaries, and short independent films. Award winning industry experts, including director Steven Sebring and Spiro Carras, will choose the "Most Innovative Narrative" and "Best Feature," while audiences will be able to vote online to decide "Best Short" and "Best Music Video" at the end of the weekend.

"The idea came to us as a solution to a problem that we ourselves were facing; how gain exposure for our work as a young production company," stated Rogers. "We want to showcase innovation and creativity and offer a new perception of cinema."  "The way the industry is set up now, most artists have to devote just as much time marketing their work as they do creating it!" exclaimed Baptiste. "We know that bringing together various artistic communities can exponentially increase exposure and business for all. The plus is that we want everyone, including audiences and local business, to benefit from the ABCD Film Festival."

To purchase tickets go to www.abcdfilmestival.com. Prices include passes to all films and a complimentary Jameson's Irish Whiskey cocktail. Tickets: $18 one day; $30 two days, $40 three day pass.  The ABCD Film Festival is open to all ages; must be 21 years old to be served alcoholic beverages.
