Palmetto Dunes Launches Blog, Video Podcast as Part of Social Media Campaign

Aug. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Twitter, YouTube and blogs, oh my… Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort,  a family-friendly golf and tennis resort on Hilton Head Island, has added a new blog and a monthly video podcast to its portfolio of social media efforts.

The Fun in the Sun blog, updated multiple times weekly, keeps current and past guests, as well as those interested in learning more about Palmetto Dunes in the know about the resort through posts written in a fun and conversational tone. Topics range from where to eat at the resort, golf tips and games to play at the beach to details on social media contests and profiles of resort employees.

Readers can subscribe to the blog via email or RSS and posts are also listed on the resort’s Facebook page and Twitter account.

Palmetto Dunes also launched a new video podcast designed to give viewers an “inside” look at Palmetto Dunes, providing them tips from staffers on how to best enjoy the resort, as well as interesting facts and stats about the many facets of Palmetto Dunes. The “Inside Palmetto Dunes” video podcast takes a look at a different topic each month of interest to viewers, such as golf for kids and surf camp.

Viewers can watch the podcast on the resort’s YouTube channel, as well as subscribe to receive the videos as they are posted.

Palmetto Dunes began a strategic social media campaign earlier this year that encompasses a Facebook page, Twitter account, Foursquare checks-ins and deals, as well as the blog and YouTube channel.
