J&J Automotive Services Now Hybrid Certified

Friday August 26, 2011 – J&J Automotive Services’ Master automotive technician, James Drollinger, has officially received the First Hybrid Certification in the State of Virginia. He attended an eight day advanced class in West Hawley, Massachusetts. Drollinger says, “There were seven people in the class, including myself, and one of them traveled across the globe just to attend. Students came from Oregon, Pennsylvania, Canada, and even Australia!” Drollinger is known for his expertise with electronics in vehicles. He was one of two students who passed the advanced electrical test on the first attempt.

The Automotive Career Development Center (ACDC- http://www.auto-careers.org/index.html) was founded in 2000 by Craig Van Batenburg, who had decided to take hybrid vehicle repair to heart. ACDC is the only organization to offer hybrid training and certification in the country. Van Batenburg is hired by the dealers to train their staff. To date, no facility in Virginia has been certified.
