Marbella Property Most Fashionable

The city has the Mediterranean at its front and the attractive hills of the countryside behind. The region is well known for its traditional experiences of tapas bars, flamenco, and bullfighting and most famous of all – the Spanish Guitar.

Marbella has a wonderful climate with over 300 days of sunshine per year on average. Despite that, the authorities manage the water supply well and there is never a shortage. This comes as a surprise to some Britons who hear about hosepipe bans after more than two weeks of sunshine. The area is a land of colour and outstanding natural beauty that attracts holidaymakers as well as those who wish to settle on a more permanent basis.

A recent poll conducted by Oak Power Communications amongst journalist shows that Andalucía rated 7.9 out of 10 followed by Madrid at 7.3 and 7.1 for Barcelona as the most overall attractive location in Spain.

The poll also showed that the jewel in the crown was Marbella. It was voted as being the most fashionable city in Spain quoted as being the sleekest, most sophisticated and laid-back city in the whole of the country. The city has appeal for the rich and famous including such well known people as Michelle Obama. It is certainly seen as being in a class of its own, being one of the most sought after locations in Spain.

A local property agent said that he was not surprised at the results of the poll. He pointed out that the recent opening of Nikki Beach recently attracted thousands of “Beautiful people” from all over Europe. The recent Marbella Luxury Fair gave marketers of top brands the opportunity to show their offerings that included a $10 million violin. The agent said that this sort of event casts Marbella in a very good light and demonstrated that the city is very high class as compared to other cities in Spain and Europe. “It is the place to see and be seen.” He said.

Another agent agreed. He said that the enquiries that his agency has been receiving often relate to villas and penthouses at the upper end of the market. He said that Marbella is increasingly being seen as a fashionable city and sophisticated people are more interested in the city than others on the Spanish coast. He said that many of the enquiries are coming from  new types of international investors who know when they see a bargain and are not afraid to back their judgement with action. He added that there are still many bargains to be had in Marbella, especially in the middle of the market with apartments suitable for buy to let investing or as holiday homes. He emphasised that Marbella is a micro market and potential buyers should not judge it by events in other cities or in Spain as a whole.
