Camp Bow Wow® Charlotte Metro Celebrates its Grand Opening Saturday, September 10

Aug. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Charlotte, NC:  The coolest canines in town have plans to join the Camp Bow Wow pack for the hippest hound happening around! All marvelous mutts and pedigreed pups and their human companions are invited to attend the grand opening celebration on Saturday, September 10th from 10am to 2pm at Camp Bow Wow, the Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp® located at 4900 Chastain Avenue in Charlotte. Admission is free. Guests who bring a donation for the Second Harvest Pet Food Bank will receive free tickets for a chance to win pawsome raffle prizes, proceeds to benefit Bow Wow Buddies Foundation®.

James and Patti Daniel are celebrating the grand opening of their state-of-the-art, 7,500-square-foot digs for dogs in pedigreed style. “Camp Bow Wow is dedicated to promoting the health and happiness of all dogs,” said James Daniel. “We’d like all of our guests – human and canine - to have a howling good time. We’ve planned activities and invited special guests that are sure to delight everyone that attends.”

“All dogs are welcome to attend the event even if they haven’t been to Camp for a complimentary Interview Day,” continued Patti Daniel. “There will be plenty of activities for the dogs to dig into. We just ask that they remain leashed and stay by their guardian’s side during the party. Pups who’ve already been to their Interview Day will be invited to run with the packs in our play yards.”

Guests can talk pup safety with representatives of the Char Meck Animal Care & Control and meet Officer Emily Acker-Estes and her K-9 Partner, Indy; pose for a family pup-trait; check out delicious treats for their pup from 4 Paws Holistic; discuss the importance of their pet being spayed/neutered with Spay Neuter Charlotte-Clinic; enjoy treats from Great Harvest Bread; browse through an exhibition of personalized pet portraits by Lindsay Blietz of Pawsome Art; and get a Micro-chip ID for their dog from  the folks at the Compassionate Care Veterinary Clinic. Individuals looking for a new pup-mate, look no further. Representatives of Project Halo will be on hand with dogs in need of loving, fur-ever homes.

Scout, the Camp Bow Wow mascot, will make a personal appearance at the event. Children are invited to join in a variety of games, have their faces painted or get a Camp Bow Wow temporary tattoo. Pups can enjoy natural treats from the Canine Café.

Interested guardians can tour the Camp facilities, while one of the Camp’s Certified Camp Counselors® cares for their pooch. Hungry humans can snack on traditional party treats and enter a raffle to benefit the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation. Brandon Chase from K 104.7 radio will host the festivities from 11am to 1pm.
