Follow on Google News | Professional Photographer uses MyMemory.com for ExhibitionsA leading photobook website in the UK is starting to attract industry professionals who are seeking professional printing methods. Most recently, photographer James Mann has approached the site to print his work for his exhibitions.
By: Emma Kent www.MyMemory.com was launched in 2010, with a view to providing consumers with an array of photographic products such as photo books, photo calendars and posters, to enable customers to keep their photos and memories alive and not just stuck in digital-form on their PCs. James Mann is an award winning UK-based professional photographer who specialises in car and motorcycle photography for industry and commerce all over the world. He is the author of the best selling How to Photograph Cars and photographer for The Art of the Formula 1 Race Car. James is using MyMemory.com to produce prints of his work for his exhibition in London. MyMemory.com has produced around 40 prints and posters for James’ exhibition in London as part of the Lambeth Open on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October 2011 at Plough Studios in Clapham, South London. He isn’t the first professional to use the site to acquire high quality photo products. Businesses have also used MyMemory.com to produce photographic products for the workplace or their employees and the site hopes to attract even more trade customers in future. James Mann has also used MyMemory.com in the past to produce a hard back photo book of the story of a famous F1 car, the Lotus 79 for client Clive Chapman, son of the founder Colin Chapman, at Classic Team Lotus. Conscious about the environmental impact of the business, MyMemory.com avoids using traditional chemical wet labs to produce their prints. Instead, new technologies are employed, minimising chemical usage and ensuring that impact on the environment is significantly reduced. Everything available on site is produced in- house, with worldwide delivery being completely free of charge. Professional photographer James Mann spoke about using MyMemory.com for his exhibitions: “I needed high quality prints of my images for the Lambeth Open exhibition in London and discovered MyMemory.com. In the past I would have had used one of the big professional labs for exhibition work but have been so impressed by the quality and value offered by MyMemory.com that I knew they were the right people to print these important photographs for me. “Although many of the products available are consumer orientated personalised calendars, diaries and photo books, the site also offers a great selection of prints in many different sizes. I was hugely inspired by the quality of the printing in the Lotus F1 photo book and am very glad to have found MyMemory.com. Their service is fantastic and delivery fast and free, which is a huge bonus.” Rebecca Huggler, co-founder of MyMemory.com, said the following; “Although predominately aimed at consumers, it’s fantastic that the site is now starting to appeal to professionals and businesses too. There is so much that can be done with photographs and it seems a shame to leave them stuck in your camera not doing anything, so we love working with people who want to show their photos off. “We feel privileged to be working with James, as he is a very well recognised photographer who produces incredible images and we hope that his exhibition in London is a huge success.” ENDS LINK http://www.MyMemory.com LINK http://www.jamesmann.com/ More about the Lambeth Open can be found here.
