Halloween Special Highlights 8th Davey and Goliath DVD

Sept. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- (Rock Rapids, IA) – A Halloween special highlights the eighth volume of the time-honored animated series Davey and Goliath, which is now available on DVD from Bridgestone Multimedia Group™.

In the 1967 spooky special titled “Halloween Who-Dun-It,” Davey goes out in costume with Sally and Goliath to create some Halloween mischief after he wins a prize for his “Man from Mars” suit. Thinking that no one can tell who they are, they end up hurting the feelings of others and realize too late that their masks can’t hide their actions from God.

Volume 8 features five other classic episodes that have been fully re-mastered in honor of the stop-motion cartoon’s 50th anniversary. In “If at First You Don’t Succeed,” Davey and Sally realize their lofty goals of becoming a champion bowler and concert pianist require effort. Then, Davey discovers the consequences of dishonesty when he cheats on a test in “Kookaburra” and buys a collar for Goliath with money that doesn’t belong to him in “Finders Keepers.” Davey also learns to respect God’s world (“The Caretaker”) and the property of others (“The Hard Way”).

Produced by Gumby creators Art Clokey and Ruth Clokey Goodell, Davey and Goliath: Volume 8 has been awarded the Dove Foundation’s Family-Approved Seal for all ages and is available at gobmg.com for $12.71.

BMG also offers volumes 1-7 individually, as well as a six DVD set of the first six volumes. The complete series, which aired on broadcast television from 1960-1975, is expected to be available in a 12 DVD set in 2012.
