Local Bike Shop Supports Employee, Her Family & LIVESTRONG In Fight Against Cancer on September 22

Sept. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- 1 in 3 people are touched by cancer. We, at Danny's Cycles, believe that 1 in 3 is one too many.

We support our employee, and LIVESTRONG Leader, Rica Mendes, and her two children, Zach and Ariella as she fights breast cancer.

Thursday, September 22 at 7pm, Danny's Cycles will host Yellow Night: A benefit for the Mendes Family Fundraising Efforts Benefiting LIVESTRONG. The evening will include wine & cheese, appetizers, dessert as well as a  silent auction and raffle. Items to be auctioned include autographed memorabilia by Real Housewives cast members including Ramona Singer and Jill Zarin, Team RadioShack riders Levi Leipheimer, Sergio Paulinho, mountain bike legend, Gary Fisher, jewelry and much more!

All 3 members of the Mendes Family will be representing the Westchester County area and Danny's at the LIVESTRONG Challenge in Austin, TX. 9-year old Ariella will run her first 5k on Saturday, October 15 and Zach, 12, will join his mom on the ride on Sunday, October 16.

All proceeds from this evening will go towards their goal of raising $15,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation in honor of global cancer survivorship.
