Multi-Platform Optimization and Immersive Graphics Highlight Newly Revamped Vizrt IBC Booth

Highlights include multi-platform production tools, immersive graphics, and a record-fast, in-game sports analysis tool

Sept. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Bergen, Norway, Vizrt Ltd. (Oslo Main List: VIZ) To underline the company’s continued adaption to a changing industry and commitment to leading the global broadcast industry, IBC 2011 will see a revamped Vizrt booth – Hall 2, Stand A31. Highlights include multi-platform production tools, immersive graphics, and a record-fast, in-game sports analysis tool.

A visual stand out at trade shows, Vizrt’s new stand will feature a full Viz Virtual Studio setup in an innovative 3D environment, making it an must-see at this year’s show. The company’s newest version of graphics software for immersive or virtual graphics as well as virtual sets will be on display, along with Vizrt’s award-winning iPad application, Viz Anchor, which puts the news anchor in charge of live, on-air graphic selection. Also in the booth will be the latest version of Viz Reporter for the iPhone, enabling live newsgathering from anywhere.

Vizrt will show multi-platform breakthroughs complete with live, on-screen user interaction. Vizrt has emerged as an expert in the automatic device adaptation of content, with a completely optimized solution for delivery of video and graphics to any device. Graphics can be made specifically for particular devices, if desired. Since the process is automatic, it does not add any cost to the production.

“Over the last two years, it’s become abundantly clear that all content producers must be able to efficiently adapt their content to the new devices and screens out there,” said Petter Ole Jakobsen, CTO of Vizrt. “The need for fast inclusion of user-generated content – be it Twitter, Facebook, whatever – means that we’ll see a focus toward integrating these sources into the workflow.”

Next Generation Video Platform to Debut at IBC 2011
The next generation of Viz Media Engine (VME) video production system will be on display at IBC 2011. Viz Media Engine provides users with the most efficient and fastest video production workflow as well as an optimized multi-platform delivery workflow. The entire workflow, from ingesting content from all possible sources (including user-generated videos), to editing and distributing to any platform, has never been faster. The VME production workflow can also be used within existing MAM systems.

Vizrt partner Vimond Media Solutions will join Vizrt at IBC, demonstrating how to best monetize end-user experiences based on live and on-demand video services. The Vimond video player supports simultaneous streaming to different devices and enables payment for and access to content directly through a television set. The combined Vizrt/Vimond solution allows broadcasters to create and offer their own online video services through HTML5, as smooth streaming, as a Flash player, etc.

Emerging Focus on Multichannel Playout
The Viz Multichannel playout system will also be a key part of the Vizrt booth at IBC this year. As broadcasters increase the number of channels, master control room tools for branding, automation and playout become increasingly critical to the bottom line.

Viz Multichannel simplifies the playout of playlists, providing a single client that handles the playlist elements of one or multiple channels. With this application, broadcasters can insert commercial messages on multiple channels in a fully automated way. It combines pre-scheduled, timecode-based playlist operations with the possibility of adding real-time 2D and 3D graphic effects and powerful branding capabilities. It centralizes the entire workflow onto one desktop.

Other highlights at this year’s Vizrt IBC booth include:
* LiberoVision, fully acquired by Vizrt, will demonstrate the latest innovations in 3D sports analysis. Liberovision sports analysis tools are now integrated into Vizrt’s general graphics workflow, enabling the results of the analysis to be used anywhere in the production chain – be it on videowalls or distributed to phones.
* SterGen, a strategic partner of Vizrt, will show its groundbreaking software for live 2D to stereoscopic 3D conversion. SterGen’s software can produce realtime 2D to 3D conversion on soccer with a result that surpasses regular 3D productions.
* The latest versions of the company’s Viz Content Pilot template-based newsroom playout system, improvements to the Viz Trio character generation (CG) system, Viz Ticker3D for ticker creation, and Viz Maps for 3D map creation.
