Mr. R. Sridhar appointed as Chairman, Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC)

Sept. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Mumbai, September 21, 2011: Finance Industry Development Council (F I D C), a Self-regulatory organization for registered NBFCs-AFCs has elected  Mr. R. Sridhar, Managing Director, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd. as its Chairman for two years at its Meeting held on 20th September 2011 at Mumbai.
“I am humbled with the responsibility entrusted on me and during my tenure I would work towards strengthening NBFC AFC industry which would help in achieving the government’s objective of financial inclusion”, said Mr. Sridhar.
Mr. R. Sridhar is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He joined Shriram in 1985 and was later promoted as President of the company in 1994. He was co-opted as an Additional Director and appointed as the Managing Director of the company in September 2000 and was reappointed as the Managing Director in 2005 and 2010. Mr. Sridhar has over two decades of experience in the financial service sector, especially in commercial vehicle financing. Mr. Sridhar participates in social activities and is actively associated with Shri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha, Mumbai and Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai . He is the recipient of Ernst & Young’s entrepreneur of the year – Manager Award 2011 and Business Achiever Award from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the year 2010-2011.
