By: ANGLES PR Every year since 2006, the America’s Best Haunts expert judging panel – with more than 100 years of haunting experience – has reviewed, nominated, and selected the nation’s best Halloween attractions. The panel praised The Terror Fest for “…Keeping D. R. Frightner, its main character, fresh and exciting… As they add to the rich history of his and other serial killers, their worst nightmares become visitors’ reality.” “Every year we improve the haunt and bring it to the next level,” added Keith Korner. “This year Frightner’s twisted nightmares have become even more terrifying, as recognized by America’s Best Haunts.” As legend has it David R. Hoster, better known as D. R. Frightner, was an American serial killer who worked in a Columbus brewery at the turn of the century. Confessing to 38 murders, nine of which were confirmed, his true body count is likely significantly higher. Visitors may relive his legacy in two terrifying attractions: Butchers Realm: Experience D.R. Frightner’s tangled and twisted house of nightmares. From the opulence of the ballroom and library to the dingy asylum and operating room, this state-of-the- The Brewery Butcher 3D: During the heyday of Columbus’ thriving brewery district, The Butcher murdered more than 38 people. Now he’s back and waiting for his next victims to arrive. The Brewery tests even the most seasoned haunted house patrons’ bravery. Many will ask themselves if they’re strong enough to continue as they wind their way through the brewery in brand new 3D. Situated in the heart of the Columbus Brewery District, The Terror Fest opens to the public at 7:30 p.m., Fri., Sept. 23, 2011. The haunt will continue, through the end of October, to thrill thousands of people with some of the most fearsome and horrifying characters and scenarios in the haunted-house industry. In keeping with its longstanding tradition of honoring those in the military or in public service, all qualifying EMTs and police and fire officials and their families can attend for free on opening weekend, Sept. 23 and 24.
