Sept. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- JAMESTOWN, NC – Wine and Design will be partnering with Ruff Love Rescue to host a fundraiser at the painting studio’s location at 121 East Main Street in Jamestown.  The three-hour event will be held on Saturday, October 1st from 6:00-9:00pm at a cost of $60 per person. 6-7pm is our social hour with free wine and appetizers, 7pm start painting.  Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in one of the studio’s more popular painting events—Paint Your Pet Night.

Ruff Love Rescue (www.ruffloverescue.com) is a non-profit foster care and dog rescue organization started in September 1999 by Sue Rogers.  A passionate animal lover, Rogers moved to North Carolina from Southern California in 1993 and began fostering dogs for various rescue groups.  On her six-acre property, she kennels over 50 dogs and is committed to finding forever homes for each abandoned and homeless animal.  Ruff Love Rescue is a no-kill shelter and handles primarily large dogs that have often been mistreated.

“Our dogs come with a lot of ‘baggage’ such as various skin problems and infestations,” says Rogers.  “Needless to say, it takes quite a bit of energy and money to treat these dogs in order to get them to the point of adoption.  We don’t turn away any dog based on breed or color.  We believe that every animal deserves a loving home, and we’re committed to making that connection.”

Wine and Design Triad is owned and operated by Jenny Ragsdale.  The studio opened its doors in Jamestown in May of this year as the first franchise operation of Raleigh’s popular and first wine and painting party concept.  The original Wine and Design opened over a year ago with the promise of providing “memories and a masterpiece in just two hours”.  The Jamestown studio targets prospective customers in High Point, Winston-Salem, Burlington, and Greensboro.

Wine and Design provides the canvas, cover-up, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing.  First-time painters, aspiring artists, or self-proclaimed pro’s browse the studio’s website to find a painting they would like to replicate.  Sessions are led by local artists that guide participants through a carefully-orchestrated, step-by-step process that promises a finished “masterpiece” at the end of the two-hour session.  Rogers said she found out about Wine and Design when she attended a friend’s birthday party held at the painting party studio.  She said the experience was nothing like she imagined.

“It was a great thing,” says Rogers.  “I don’t have any [painting] experience, but found myself engulfed in the process.  It was very therapeutic.  I have a stressful life and to be able to escape with my friends for a few hours and paint was fantastic.  I look forward to working with Jenny on this fundraiser and introducing many more people to her company, as well as to the positive work of Ruff Love Rescue.”

The October 1st fundraiser will be a Paint Your Pet event.  Attendees are required to submit a photo of his or her pet prior to class.  The photo will then be transferred onto the painting canvas and ready for painting at the time of class.  To register, visit www.wineanddesignnc.com/jamestown/calendar.  For more information, call (336) 202-7448.

Rogers stresses that her non-profit does not receive county or state assistance and that 100% of her funding comes from personal or business contributions goes straight to helping the animals.  Anyone unable to attend the Wine and Design fundraiser, but would like to support Ruff Love Rescue can make a contribution online by visiting www.ruffloverescue.com.  To help with neutering and spaying costs, donations can also be made straight to the organization’s veterinary clinic, Blue Flint Animal Hospital (www.blueflintanimalhospital.com), and mailed to 1527 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, NC  27205.
