Local Company Ready for Sept. 26th Event in New York City
LEWISVILLE, Texas – Dallas Soy Candles, a Lewisville business offering soy candles was recently invited to have their soy candles included in the official gift bags at the News and Documentary Emmy ®Awards in New York City on Sept. 26.   Dallas Soy Candles will provide 800 soy candles to be handed out to awards night attendees.

The News & Documentary Emmy® Awards is a major national broadcast journalism competition.  It promotes journalistic excellence by awarding the coveted Emmy® to the very best news reports and documentary films aired on national television or streamed over the Internet each year.   Dallas Soy Candles owner and founder, Edith M. Fikes received an email request on Thursday, Sept 1st inviting her company to feature an item in the gift bags.  Fikes designed a feature soy candle inside an 8 oz square metal tin with a clear window lid.  Three types of holiday scented soy candles included; falling snowflakes, let it snow, let it snow, and dancing in the snow.  She felt these particular soy candles would be the perfect holiday gift for everyone.

“This past week was unbelievable.  I had such a short time to make the soy candles while I was excited, a little scared, and proud of what I accomplished,” said Fikes.  “After designing this particular candle, I have decided to sell this as a wholesale feature item for the holidays.”  
Dallas Soy Candles is a home-based business with a staff of one, Fikes.  While she has friends and family to call upon for assistance with big orders when needed, Fikes was determined to complete the entire order herself.   She felt this was a great time to test herself under pressure while pacing her to fulfill large orders with deadlines for the holidays.  The order has shipped to New York.
