Total Solar Eclipse Cruise Australia November 2012

Sept. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- A Total Solar Eclipse will cross over northern Queensland, Australia just after dawn on November 14th, 2012. Tropical Sails Corp has procured cabins on the Dawn Princess, which has adjusted her itinerary to observe the total solar eclipse. To observe a total solar eclipse, you must be under a strip of the earth approximately 100-200 miles wide and several thousands of miles long.

Sailing from Sydney, the route includes  Brisbane,  Willis Island,  Airlie Beach,  Townsville,
Port Douglas, Solar Eclipse Viewing at sea returning to Sydney. A solar eclipse occurs when a new moon passes in front of the sun. Observers will see the sun's corona or atmosphere and feel a 360 degree sunset. Totality will last about 2 minutes.

Tropical Sails Corp has been doing solar eclipse adventures since Baja in 1991. We took 35 motor-homes and campers to the beach and camped on the centerline. We arranged all details for this eclipse using Dan Oppliger’s resources acquired while working for a specialty tour operator. We did this in spite of misinformation published by what are our competitors today. We knew then how to get water and ice delivered to the beach in July. This will be our 13th astronomy related tour offering.
