You can’t take it with you – free wills and financial planning seminar

Sept. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Writing a will often forces people to face reality and come to terms with their own mortality, something we all naturally want to shy away from. Sometimes it can seem easier to avoid the issue entirely by not writing a will, but this can only lead to additional heartache for those loved ones left behind at an already stressful time.

To help people understand some of the issues surrounding will writing and inheritance tax planning, Tallents Solicitors, in association with independent financial advisers, Cockburn Lucas, are jointly hosting a free seminar at 10am in the Minster Suite at the Saracen’s Head Hotel in Southwell on Thursday 20th October.

Speaking on behalf of Tallents will be Ann Farnill, a wills, trust and probate specialist with more than 13 years’ experience in private client matters. Ann says,

“Every person will be in a different situation when it comes to drawing up a will. Deciding how to divide up your estate can be a very sobering experience and it is often clouded by emotions running high as well, so this seminar aims to cover key topics that everyone should consider at the outset, such as inheritance tax planning, how second marriages may affect your will, providing for disabled beneficiaries, leaving monies to charities, Lasting Powers of Attorney and long-term care planning.”

Joining Ann will be David Ryan, an Associate Director of Cockburn Lucas, with over 20 years experience in providing investment and tax planning advice to his clients. He says,
