New Website, The Eczema Company, Makes Children’s Eczema Products Accessible to US & Canada

Sept. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- MONTREAL - Sept. 26, 2011 - - The Eczema Company launched its new online store featuring a variety of products for children with eczema. This is the first online store of its kind. Previously parents had no choice but to shop for eczema clothing and creams in different places, many of which were overseas. The website finally brings customers in the US and Canada easy access to a variety of products in the eczema market.

As many as 10-20 percent of infants and children in the world have been diagnosed with eczema, according to the UK’s National Institute of Health. Jennifer Roberge, owner of The Eczema Company, is not surprised as she sees eczema everywhere, every day. She is an active member in many online support groups, where she turned to for advice when her son’s eczema was at its worst. Now, her son's skin has vastly improved, so she offers guidance and tips to other mothers struggling with eczema via the same support websites and through her company’s Facebook page.

“Once we determined our son’s triggers (gluten, soy, among others) his skin started clearing up within days. It was unbelievable to see his skin returning to normal,” states Jennifer. While determining triggers may not be so cut and dry for all cases, there are certain things that most children with eczema have in common and that is the intense itching and dry, irritated, and inflamed skin. “We had the hardest time finding products locally to prevent our son from scratching his skin. Everything was overseas and the shipping was cost prohibitive,” said Jennifer.

Jennifer gathered the scratch protective clothing, which were the most effective for her son, as well as natural creams/salves and soaps praised by other eczema parents, and has made them all available via The Eczema Company. Jennifer looks forward to adding additional products based on customer feedback. Jennifer says “We’ve been there; the sleepless nights, intense itching, and the desperation to find something that will help comfort your child. Our goal is to make the eczema journey a little easier on everyone.”

While The Eczema Company focuses on helping families with children coping with eczema, many of their products are great for adults too. Jennifer says “We started the company to help other children like our son, but we understand how difficult the condition can be. Our doors are open to anyone with a connection to eczema, from babies to grandparents and in between.”
