Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Shelby Logue, the mother of 12-year old boy brought up an issue during South Eastern School District school board meeting regarding her son’s mold allergy that has developed since the first day of school. The kid was forced to be home-schooled because of a swollen face, a classic sign of allergic reaction due to mold.

The school has already spent $112,000 for mold remediation and cleaning on the west side building of the school this past summer and said that it was the first issue of mold allergy that the school has ever heard.

Logue said to the board that she wants her son to formally attend school and have a healthy social life. So the school is now planning for mold remediation tactics and air quality testing to avoid such occurrence of mold in the school.

“A mom opened up the issue about her son during a recent school board meeting. She wants to bring her son back to South Eastern School District without worrying about mold allergy again.”

“The superintendent said that this is the first problem about mold allergy in the East building. The student was being home-schooled instead because of his mold problems in the said building. But his mom wanted his son to formally attend his school where he can see his peers and classmates instead of studying alone in home with no one.”

“The school has already planned a solution. The superintendent has already talked with the board on conducting air quality testing in all of the other buildings in the school district.”
