Bayonne Resident, Franca Kirsch Competes in Toastmasters Metropolitan New Jersey Speech Contest

Oct. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Franca Kirsch, a Toastmaster from Bayonne NJ, competed in the Toastmasters District 83 Humorous Speech Contest.  The contest, for the title of the “Funniest Speaker in the District”, was held in East Hanover, NJ on September 24.   The Humorous Speech Contest was one of two speech contests highlighting the two-day bi-annual (September 24-25) conference of Toastmasters International, District 83.  Franca represented Division A, which covers Bayonne and parts of Jersey City.

Franca competed against four other finalists.  A panel of judges (from Toastmasters) evaluated 5 contestants from Metropolitan New Jersey, Rockland County and Staten Island, all of whom had advanced to the district level following a process of elimination, using club, area and division speech competitions.  Franca’s humorous speech was titled “When I Was A Fat Girl”.  Criteria used in judging included speech content, organization, voice quality, and gestures.

Franca, who lives in Bayonne, has a Bachelor of Science degree, is currently working towards a Master’s degree from Jersey City University and is employed as an Administrative Assistant at Jersey City University.  Franca is a member of the New Jersey City University Toastmasters Club, which is located in Jersey City.  The New Jersey City University Toastmasters Club meets 12:00 p.m., Wed.
