ROSELLE, N.J. - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Margarita Estrada of Roselle, New Jersey, has taken first place in the Area 65 Humorous Speech Contest held Saturday, September 28 at Rahway Public Library, Rahway, NJ.  She will go on to compete at the Division F Contest, on Saturday, October 26, at the Agape Family Worship Center, Rahway, NJ.

Margarita Estrada, ACB, Administrator for First Presbyterian Church of Iselin, New Jersey, has been a member of Toastmasters International since September 1, 2006.  Her speech, How to win friends and influence people – The Latina Way”, was a take-off of Dale Carnegie’s classic book written in 1937.

“All the contestants delivered top-notch speeches”, said Estrada.  “When my name was called, I was deeply moved because it takes effort, time, passion, and humility to prepare for competition.  My colleagues at Impact 21 Toastmasters provided effective coaching and feedback.”

Estrada is employed as the Webmaster, Administrative Assistant, and Food Pantry Co-Coordinator, for The First Presbyterian Church of Iselin.  Also, she has been a consultant for the Spanish language magazine, Fe y Esperanza, located in Guttenberg, NJ, and The Bismark Group, located in Jersey City, NJ. Prior to her current positions, she has worked in the private sector as a Defined Benefit administrator, Defined Contribution administrator, and Health and Welfare administrator.

An enthusiast of the written word, in both Spanish and English, she translates work in both languages. She earned a BA at Montclair State University, Magna Cum Laude, in Communication Studies

Margarita Estrada, ACB, CL, has been a member of Toastmasters International since September 1, 2006.  Her Toastmasters career began with Toastmasters En Español, located in Union City, NJ. She has also achieved her Advanced Communicator Bronze, and Competent Leader award, within the Toastmasters program.   Currently, she serves as Vice-President, Public Relations, for Impact 21 Toastmasters in Rahway, New Jersey.
