Wally Edgar Chevrolet brings the 2013 Convertible Camaro to Detroit.

Oct. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Chevy has recently announced that they will be offering the powerful new Camaro ZL1 as a convertible for 2013. The new Camaro ZL1 Convertible is scheduled to be shown at this year's upcoming LA Auto Show.

“The Camaro ZL1 convertible will be one of the most powerful and most capable, convertibles available at any price,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “This is a car that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face every time you drop the top – or hit the gas.”

The Camaro ZL1 Convertible offers the same supercharged 6.2L engine as the coupe pushing out 580 hp and 556 lb-ft of torque.

The Convertible will have extra reinforcement from the standard coupe to minimize noise and vibration including a hydroformed tube in the A-pillars, an inner reinforcement bracket in the windshield header, a reinforced front hinge pillar and reinforcements inside the rockers.

There hasn't been any mention of price so far for the Camaro ZL1 Convertible but we could estimate it would be in the price range between the Corvette GS and Z06.
