By: Vintage Seekers A vintage art edition of the definitive book on Pucci is also available to buy on the Vintage Seekers site. Each book is bound in an original vintage Pucci fabric and is accompanied by four art prints of original drawings from the designer Emilio Pucci. There were just 500 signed and numbered copies of the Pucci Vintage Art Edition ever published by Taschen. Known as the "Prince of Prints," designer Emilio Pucci (1914-1992) hailed from one of Florence's oldest noble families. His country-gentleman upbringing led him to be an avid sportsman and a continuous player in Italy's political landscape throughout his life. Emilio Pucci began creating luxury skiwear before branching into swimwear in 1949. The following year he moved on to scarves before launching women's wear at the urging of Steven Marcus, owner of Neiman Marcus. His slinky, wrinkle-free silk jersey dresses were worn by fashion icons such as Sophia Loren and Jackie Kennedy, while Marilyn Monroe was famously buried wearing a Pucci design. http://www.vintageseekers.com # # # Vintage Seekers, the premium online platform curating a heritage lifestyle that brings together the best examples of design, fashion, motoring, watches, wine and collectibles.
