Cotton Valley Louisiana Man to Celebrate 106th Birthday

Nov. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Mr. Frank Levingston of Cotton Valley, Louisiana will celebrate his 106th birthday on November 19th, 2011. He was born November 13th, 1905 and has resided in Lake Charles, LA for the past thirty years.  

During his life, he has experienced many struggles, achievements and celebrations among them; the Great Depression of the 1930's and the Jim Crow laws. Levingston is a World War II Veteran and was stationed in South Africa.  His occupation while serving was a mechanic which was rare for an African American at that time.  After serving in the military, he was a union labor worker specializing in cement finishing.  One of his biggest accomplishments was traveling to the “Holy Land” in Israel.  

Loved by so many people of different races, religions and cultures, they will travel across the United States to come together to honor and celebrate the long life of this soft spoken yet wise family man.The celebration will start at 2:00 p.m. at Pat’s of Henderson located at 1500 Siebarth Drive.
