By: Anthony Cornealius Registration is still open for this leadership event, known affectionately as the “Hawaiian Shirt Boot Camp.” This educational and motivational seminar introduces attendees to an array of case studies and personal experiences by some of the nation’s foremost fire-rescue service leaders. Roundtable discussions and presentations led by renowned fire chief Alan Brunacini are designed to prepare individuals for their journey through fire and rescue leadership. Huntsville Fire Department’s Trey Lamb learned much about leadership and management at a Brunacini retreat he attended earlier this year. “It gave me a hard copy format on how to approach any situation,” he said. Individuals aspiring to or in fire chief or company officer positions will benefit greatly from the years of experience offered by Chief Brunacini and other expert panelists. Participants also will earn two continuing education units and/or three optional hours of CSU college credit upon successful completion of additional coursework and a Blue Card Command Certification Program 50-Hour Online Course.
