"There is so much more we can do as humans to help one another during the holidays and of course throughout the entire year. People need help, organizations need volunteers. Instead of sitting at home eating all day or doing nothing at all, we can donate an hour of our time to assist the needs of the less fortunate. It's simple, just show up and do it", said Germaine. He encourages Facebook friends to repost the volunteer message which also suggests contacting your local Salvation Army branch, food mission, outreach center, church or reputable non-profit organization to find out who needs help and what can be done. Germaine is expected to turn this into an annual volunteer drive through social media, becoming a national movement.
