Follow on Google News | Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board announcedFollowing a series of interviews, the nine private business members of the Humber LEP Board have been announced and will meet for the first time on 16 Dec joining Chair Lord Christopher Haskins and Vice Chair David Ross for their first full meeting.
By: Edward Moss The other private sector members joining the LEP Board have been confirmed as: Peter Stephenson, Executive Chairman, Able UK Ltd David Kilburn, Managing Director, MKM Building Supplies Alan Platt, Managing Director, John Good Shipping Ex Officio Board member is Howard O’Neill, President of the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce. The public sector members of the board, which includes the four local authorities covered by the Humber LEP are: Councillor Steve Brady, Leader of Hull City Council Councillor Stephen Parnaby OBE, Leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council Councillor Chris Shaw, Leader of North East Lincolnshire Council Councillor Liz Redfern, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, and Professor Calie Pistorius, Vice Chancellor University of Hull Commenting on the board appointments, Lord Christopher Haskins, Chair of Humber LEP said: “The Humber LEP Board, like the LEP itself, is all about local businesses and local people, and my first task was to ensure all concerned have good strong links to, as well as an interest in, the Humber economy. “Now that the Humber has been recognised as the major UK centre for renewables, we need to exploit this and ensure that all parties work together to encourage inward investment into our Enterprise Zones as well as create opportunities for local companies. “We have a lot of work to do, but I have total confidence that my members of the Board will rise to meet this challenge.” For further information on Humber LEP, please see www.humberlep.org, email info@humberlep.org (to be added to our mailing list) or telephone 01482 611 880.
