Orange City Chiropractor Gives Out Free Turkeys for Thanksgiving

Dec. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Complete Wellness Center of Orange City gave out a free turkey to all their patients on Wednesday, November 16, 2011.  

“This is a way we give back to our patients,” said Dr. Kim Reddick, DC, owner and clinic director.

“We take care of them physically, and the turkeys help to take care of them psychologically and emotionally,” continued Reddick.  

His chiropractic clinic has been an institution in Orange City for 27 years.  He has seen some of his patients for all that time.

And Dr. Reddick further commented, “I think of my patients as my friends and family.”

One of the patients, who received her turkey, re-gifted it to one of her co-workers who otherwise would not be able to have turkey for their Thanksgiving Dinner.

“We have some of the best patients,” commented Dr. Kevin Thorpe, DC, one of the chiropractors at Complete Wellness Center of Orange City, “It’s nice to see the giving we started progresses.”

After the patients were seen by Dr. Reddick, Dr. Thorpe or Sharon Guest, the massage therapist, they were escorted to a back room containing a small corral made of sheet insulation, duct tape and covered with blankets.  Inside were all the frozen turkeys.  By lunch time the corral was made smaller to contain a smaller number of turkeys.

"We promoted this for a month.  Some of the patients expected certificates, but when the received a real frozen turkey, they were just ecstatic, especially the children," said Reddick, "We had fun with this one."
