Safety - what are we talking about ?

1/ Birkosit does not present any significant danger for the environment. It is not known to contain any hazardous substance that is harmful to the environment.

2/ Birkosit is non-flammable. Birkosit has no flashpoint.
Check competitive products. They contain 10-12% by volume of methylated spirits and have flash point of 14-20 deg C due to the solvents.  Competitive products have over 25% Volatile Contents. This is not safe to handle and is needs special protective clothing.  Storage of competitive material also needs special precautions as they are highly inflammable.

3/ Birkosit contains linseed oil. The boiled linseed oil helps in better sealing properties and has been used in turbine repairs since decades. There is no evaporation of material or vapours.  In contrast, competitive material containing solvents have a chance for solvent evaporation which is not safe and needs addition of solvents again. Competitive products therefore they have a low shelf life. Birkosit has a very long shelf life, virtually unlimited. Due to reasons we can not control, we still give a guaranteed storage life of 5 years from manufacture.
