Hot or Not? Grifiti’s Mood Mouse Pad is Hot this Holiday Season

Dec. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- GRIFITI, an innovative consumer electronics peripheral and computer accessories company, has introduced an old favorite with a new twist. This holiday season, Grifiti introduced the Grifiti Mood Mouse Pad using the same heat sensitive color changing liquid crystal made famous with mood rings.

The Grifiti Mood Mouse Pad is a retro design based on the old Silicon Sports HyperMood Pad that went out of production 15 years ago. After an exhaustive search for liquid crystal manufacturing technology, Grifiti launched the Mood Mouse Pad for sale directly at Grifiti.com and on Amazon.

“Liquid crystal can be difficult to work with in manufacturing so it took us some time to perfect the assembly,” said Andy Choy, one of Grifiti’s designers, “and we wanted to update the mouse pad profile so that it was super thin and more ergonomic than the old Silicon Sports HyperMood Pads”.

The Grifiti Mood Mouse Pad is a standard sized hard surface mouse pad for optimized mouse performance. A thin layer of heat sensitive liquid crystal is suspended beneath the surface. It’s optimized to change colors at room temperatures. Through a raising temperature grid, the Mood Mouse Pad changes from black to blue, green and red. A nice warm hand or a hot cup of coffee works nicely.

“It’s a ton of fun as a toy,” said high school student, Quinton Norman. “Our chemistry teacher really loved sharing it when we were learning about liquid crystals and other states of matter.”

Grifiti has had a number of people send unusual pictures of heated up images on their Mood Mouse Pads. While some are smiley faces and dinosaur drawings, others just can't be posted to the Grifiti blog.
