Vintage Seekers unveils its collection of 1st edition James Bond books by Ian Fleming

Dec. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- The James Bond series are arguably the most famous spy novels in literary history, charting the missions and romantic dalliances of British Secret Service agent James Bond, the character created by Ian Fleming. From the total of 13 books, Vintage  Seekers (http://vintageseekers.com) has sourced an impressive five first edition hardbacks.

Amongst the collection of original first-print hardbacks are Moonraker, Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only, Thunderball and On her Majesty's Secret Service.

1955's Moonraker, the third book in the series, comes in near fine condition and tells the tale of Bond's efforts to prevent arch nemesis Hugo Drax from committing global genocide.

The Goldfinger first edition, in which Bond saves the world economy from obliteration, is triple signed by the three Bond girls who starred in the 1964 film: Honor Blackman, Tania Mallet and Shirley Eaton.  

The For Your Eyes Only hardback was issued in 1960 and consists of a collection of short stories as well as the title story.

Bond's bid to prevent Blofeld's theft of nuclear bombs is told in Thunderball and is the ninth book in the chronicles of 007.

Also bearing an autograph is the 1963 On her Majesty's Secret service, signed by the 1969 film's Bond girl, Diana Rigg. The eleventh book has Bond pitted against Blofeld once again as he must uncover what the latter is doing in his Alpine research laboratories.

All of these First Edition James Bond hardbacks are in near perfect condition, which is no mean feat considering they are almost half a century old.
