Pol Roger Vintage Champagnes launch on Vintage Seekers

Dec. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- A range of Pol Roger vintage champagnes has recently joined Vintage Seekers' curated listings of rare valuable wines and champagnes. The new Pol Roger additions include five sumptuous champagnes: One case of twelve 1996 Brut Vintages, once case of three 1995 Brut Vintages, one case of three 1998 Cuvée Winston Churchills, one case of six 1999 Cuvée Winston Churchills and one bottle of non-vintage Brut Reserve.

Pol Roger was the favourite champagne brand of Winston Churchill because of its signature robust and mature style, hence the name of the 1998 and 1999 Cuvées.

Founded in 1849, Pol Roger has remained an independently-owned and family-run producer. It has a sprawling eighty-eight hectares of vineyards, located in the Vallée d’Epernay and on the Côte des Blancs.  Its cellars lie some seven kilometres underneath the streets of Epernay, making them some of the deepest in the region which aides the fermentation process and contributes to the style and quality of the wines.

The prolific wine critic Tom Stevenson commented: "If I were to choose just one house from which to source a vintage champagne to lay down, there is no question that I would choose Pol Roger". Stevenson is esteemed as the world's leading authority on Champagne.
