Director General of British Chambers of Commerce in new year visit to Hull & Humber Chamber of Comm

John Longworth, the new Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce is making a new year visit Hull on Friday 6th January for a series of meetings with the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce, Humber LEP and Associated British Ports.

Jan. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Mr Longworth is also undertaking a tour of the ports in Hull.

The British Chambers of Commerce represent over 100,000 businesses in the UK who are the backbone of British enterprise and also the national secretariat for Local Enterprise Partnerships.

Mr Longworth will not only be meeting with Hull and Humber Chamber President Howard O’Neill and Chief Executive Dr Ian Kelly, but also with Lord Haskins, Chairman of Humber LEP and Matt Jukes, ABP Port Director Hull and Goole who wears two hats as Vice President of the Hull Chamber and as a Board member of the LEP.

Speaking about the visit, Howards O’Neill said:

“This important visit presents the perfect opportunity to bring the national Chamber network up to speed on the renewables revolution coming to the Humber.

“The Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce has helped to ensure that private business is at the heart of the new Humber LEP and the Director General is keen to hear for himself about a LEP which is seen by Cabinet Ministers as having some of the most exciting potential of any LEP in the UK.”
