Quality Life Center announces 21st Annual Gala, the “I am the ‘Q’” Gala Luncheon

Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Fort Myers, FL – January 16, 2012 - Quality Life Center will host its 21st annual fundraiser gala to be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on March 27, 2012 at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Student Union Ballroom located at 10501 FGCU Boulevard South, Fort Myers, FL 33965.  The luncheon will bring together supporters, leaders, and the community to join in and support the critical programs and services that Quality Life Center provides. The theme, “I am the ‘Q’”, pays tribute to the community, which plays a crucial role in its mission. Quality Life Center provides fun and educational opportunities to youth—but, the larger vision is to build a strong, healthy, empowered community.

The organization will be recognizing three extraordinary organizations and their representatives who continue to have a profound effect on our community. Honorees are:  Florida Gulf Coast University and Dr. Wilson Bradshaw, The News-Press and Mei-Mei Chan, and Lee Memorial Health Systems and Jim Nathan.  “We are so thankful for their support in improving the lives of so many,” says event co-chair Cia Sherman.

Co-chair Marie Ackord promises “a fun and energizing program filled with the ‘Q’ spirit.” In addition to raising critical funds needed for education, enrichment programs, and development services, “Q” kids and their families will share their own stories of growth and triumph over adversity and circumstances.  

“The ‘Q’ gives me an opportunity to share what I have learned from here and from other outside experiences with children in our community,” says Ms. Sharri Armstrong, a former “Q” graduate who is now an employee.
