Sofia Hayat is releasing 2 debuts within a week of each other

Jan. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Although she spent much of her time in the UK working, Bollywoood came calling.

The 2 characters she is playing could not be further from each other.  
In Naachle London, she plays a young mum bringing up 2 children and her father on her own, she upholds Asian values and beliefs, and in Diary of a Butterfly she plays a young, attractive spa owner.

Glamour versus motherhood.
Actors in India are tended towards being typecast into roles, and with these 2 releases, not only will Sofia break the mould of being typecast, but will showcase her acting in 2 completely different roles.

The British director from Naachle London has said of Sofia, "For Sofia to play glamour is easy, but this role was challenging, and I wanted to blow away the Bollywood mindset that one can only pay glamorous roles if portrayed that way in a film that came before.

Asked who she would like to work with in Bollywood, she says, " In Bollywood, I love the works of directors like Ashwini Chaudhary, and the Bohra Brothers as well as Madhur Bandhakar. They are all making progressive films, with great scripts, direction and cinematography.  
Of course you also have your greats like Karan Johar. As far as starring opposite a leading man, well, that is difficult to say, but Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachan and Hrithik Roshan come to mind, but there are so many! Abhay Deol was great in Jimmy Oi. I am really enjoying India and the energy of Bollywood"
