Jan. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- For those of you who caught the first episode of American Idol's Season 11 last week, you most likely have seen Connecticut native Gabi Carrubba take the stage in front of the three judges, Randy Jackson, Steve Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.

Gabi recently spent time at Trod Nossel Studios (http://www.trodnossel.com) working on her debut single, "Something More."  Carrubba arrived at the studio looking for new material for her release. Trod Nossel Artists pulled out the heavy artillery and enlisted, Beau Badrick, teen songwriting brainchild, (http://www.beaubadrick.com) to write her song, in which Gabi took part in, herself. "We locked them in Studio B and within a half hour they had her song written and arranged. We immediately started recording," says Darlene Cavalier, co-owner of Trod Nossel.  The single, released yesterday, is available for download at Gabi's official website.  http://www.gabicarrubba.com

Besides the single, the production team decided to do a second song to showcase her vocal. "Of all the 800+ titles we have in our publishing catalog, she went right for the 60s stuff," says Cavalier. Gabi chose a song called, "I Had A Girl," (recorded to suit her as "I Had A Boy"), that was written in 1967 by songwriter, Ray Zeiner, and recorded by The Wildweeds while under the auspices of oral-surgeon-turned-Trod-Nossel-Founder, Doc Cavalier. The song was shaved down and contemporized by Beau Badrick on piano, while Tommy Cavalier called in John Scarpulla on sax (Billy Joel, Diana Ross), who he works with regularly through the Miracle Concerts division.  http://www.miracleconcerts.com

In just a few weeks the Trod Nossel Production team worked diligently with writers, engineers, producers and artists to complete the single by the American Idol air date.  "Something More" was written by Trod Nossel Artist, Beau Badrick, and Gabi Carrubba.  Badrick played all instruments, including background vocals along with Carrubba, with the exception of drums by Manny Patricio. It was engineered by Justin Watson and Ian Mereness, and produced by production team, Beau Badrick, Darlene Cavalier and Tommy Cavalier. Darlene Cavalier is Executive Producer.
