Jan. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Monterey Peninsula Country Club (MPCC) has hosted Golf for Kids for the past 23 years. Entry fees includes a clinic hosted by Davis Love III, followed by a Pro-Am golf tournament on the Dunes and Shore courses of MPCC, culminating with a cocktail reception and the Davis Love III scholarship awards ceremony.

Golf for Kids is a joint effort with the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County to support our local youth. The support and generosity of the touring PGA professionals and sponsors of this golf tournament have made the tournament an overwhelming success, and has raised over $3.2 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County since its inception.

Twenty-five percent of the net proceeds from the tournament are placed directly into the scholarship fund for Boys & Girls Club teens.  One of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County's biggest supporters, Davis Love III, established the Davis Love Family Foundation in 1987.   Each year, recipients of The Davis Love Scholarship are recognized at the reception following the golf tournament. In total, 21 teen members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County have received this scholarship, enabling the teens to begin shaping their futures by completing their higher education.
