Follow on Google News | Jesse Bandre From Exceed Technologies Speaks To BINaREJesse Bandre of Exceed Technologies shared insights about outsourcing information technology functions. He presented to an audience consisting of local IT professionals known a BINaRE.
By: Bob Wadley Bandre began with the statement “Every IT department has task that need to get done, but every IT department is not suited, nor skilled to perform every IT task efficiently. It is the responsibility of IT managers to assess what they do best at the core, and determine which task they may be better off contracting to a third party. The very nature of those tasks in complex IT environments may make much more sense to partner with an outside source”. Bandre went on to point out examples. Sometimes there are relatively menial tasks being performed by high paid technicians. It might be that their skills and talents would be put to better use on more complex projects. Also the inverse may be true. There may be a new requirement presented to an IT Department where no one has the skills or experience to handle the new requirement. There could be new hardware that has to be purchased, installed, and maintained. That also could be a situation that lends itself to a cheaper alternative by contracting the service to a third party rather than incur additional expense and pain of installing the equipment in house. He concluded his presentation by explaining that Exceed Technologies is a company with a team of technology specialists covering virtually every task that a company might require from an IT department. Bandre indicated that there are many situations where Exceed technologies can accomplish certain functions of an IT Department cheaper than the IT Department can do it for themselves. The responsibility of IT managers is to find the best most efficient way to provide IT services to their companies, and Exceed Technologies has been very successful helping companies do that. Bandre spoke for less than an hour. The Binare group was surprisingly receptive to his message during the question and answer session afterward. Several members shared examples of various IT tasks that their own companies were outsourcing at present. BINaRE was founded in January 2010 to serve as a resource to northeast Mississippi.
