There’s a new book publisher on the block officially opening their virtual book store doors on February 29, 2012.

Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing was founded by SJ Davis and Ashley Kay after a long discussion about lack of good publishers and support for indie writers in the United States.

Davis says “Most legacy publishers focus on stories that are popular or in-style but they overlook the unique possibilities of storytelling that exist - stories that are dark and experimental. After brainstorming a bit together and playing around with hypothetical logos, CHBB opened for submissions and sought out authors. Very quickly I knew after reading some amazing stories that these were voices I wanted people to hear. And I knew I wanted to bring them to the public.”

Crushing Hearts is a new style of book publisher offering their books in both ebook and print formats.

They exclusively use cover artist Para Graphic Designs for their book covers and promotional designs, Bewitching Book Tours for professional publicity and book tours. And S.K. Whiteside provides invaluable website support, manuscript formatting, and creates the book trailers for each CHBB book.

CH&BB looks for dark and edgy paranormal fiction as well as urban fantasy for adults and a crossover YA audience.

Davis says “CHBB authors are passionate about their work and about promoting it, I couldn't be more thrilled with the group of writers here!”

Initially, CHBB books will be available in print and ebook formats on Amazon. They are considering other online venues as well as forming relationships with brick and mortar bookstores.
