Feb. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- The award-winning Concord Green Home, a newly constructed healthy home designed to blend with existing New England vernacular, received the cover story in the Jan/Feb 2012 issue of Design New England magazine. The well respected regional design publication tapped writer Bruce Irving and photographer Eric Roth to capture the nuances of the home and interview the team of responsible professionals.

The story offers an intimate tour inside the Concord Green Home  - a healthy green living environment for interior designer and homeowner, Lisa Kauffman Tharp.  Project goals included exceptional indoor air quality, excellent energy performance, optimal use of space, and seamless integration into a historic neighborhood.

Lisa’s firm, Kauffman Tharp Design, worked together with the architecture of ZeroEnergy Design & Connor Homes, and the expertise of builder Aedi Construction to bring the home to reality. Together, the group was an exceptional team, earning a 2011 Merit Award from the EcoHome Design Awards.

Kauffman Tharp designed the kitchen, bathrooms, materials palette, and  custom details to create a ‘coastal loft’ aesthetic for the interiors. Stephanie Horowitz AIA of ZeroEnergy Design provided green architecture for the residence.  Jordan Goldman, also of ZeroEnergy Design, contributed energy modeling and designed the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Connor Homes provided traditional architecture services and the mill-built panelized building shell. Matt Ayers of Aedi Construction managed the construction of the home.

“Having such a prominent shelter publication cover our team’s work in detail is an honor.  I’m thrilled to see this healthy home be recognized for its positive design and health features,” said Lisa Kauffman Tharp of Kauffman Tharp Design.
