By: M-Squared Public Relations From April 11-13, 2012, in Washington, D.C., the National Environmental Justice Conference and Training Program will spotlight capacity building and technical assistance to enhance communities and youth education. The National Environmental Justice Conference, Inc. is proud to announce that two nationally-recognized leaders in environmental justice have joined their already distinguished Board of the Directors. The newest members include environmental justice expert Richard Moore, government and nongovernmental committee member and panelist and the 2005 Ford Foundation Leadership for a Changing World Award recipient and Vernice Miller-Travis, principal of Miller-Travis & Associates, an environmental consulting group. Miller-Travis is also a senior associate at Skeo Solutions, an environmental consulting firm. An Advisory Board has also been formed and its members include: Rose Scott Carlsbad, NM; Genevieve Navarrette, Executive Director Hobbs, New Mexico Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Cindy De La Cruz, Southern California Conference Coordinator- With the launch of the new website, www.thenejc.org, the National Environmental Justice Conference and Training Program hopes to educate those who are interested in finding more information and ways to make the world a better place. Those interested in participating in the 2012 conference are encouraged to register early at www.thenejc.org. Registration is free for all students, faculty, community members and organizations, and government employees. For corporate and other attendees, the registration fee is $125 before March 15 and $175 thereafter. The conference is pleased to announce that it has recently gained 501C (3) tax- exempt status and is currently accepting sponsorship applications.
