Hotel Managers Group To Manage Fitchburg Massachusetts Courtyard by MarriottHotel Managers Group, HMG, announced today that it has assumed management of the 236-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel located in Fitchburg, Mass.
By: Alan Bowles, Senior Vice President / Principal Effective immediately, HMG will oversee not only the day-to-day operations of the property, but also the transition process as the hotel converts from a Marriott property to a Holiday Inn Hotel. “The Marriott property owners requested that HMG be appointed to successfully transition this property,” according to Skip Drinkard, the Courtyard by Marriott newly appointed General Manager. “We expect that the conversion process will be completed in approximately three months.” The Courtyard by Marriott is located in the city of Fitchburg, Mass., the third largest city in Worcester County and home to Fitchburg State University. Located adjacent to the Nashua River, the city is situated about an hour outside Boston and 64 miles away from Logan Airport. Hotel amenities include a full-service business center, a fitness center, an indoor pool and whirlpool and wireless Internet access across the property, including all public areas. After the conversion process is complete, HMG will ensure that the new property manager and staff are trained in InterContinental Hotels Group standards and procedures. IHG is the parent company behind well known brands such as the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites. After the training process has been completed, HMG will transfer daily operations of the hotel to an asset management company retained by the property owner.
