Feb. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Orange County, CA—Are you a human resources professional who is frustrated by sifting through resumes to prequalify job candidates? Do you wish there was a way to get the right candidates to find you?

Now there is a way, thanks to a new course at Webster University, starting March 8, 2012. Dan Fowler Speaks presents How HR Departments Can Use Social Media to Find the Right Employee, a four-hour course that covers the essential ways that HR can use the latest online technology and tools to their benefit.

The seminar will teach human resources professionals and employees to become better recruiters, and the main points covered in the first installment of the four-part course include:
•   How HR departments can best use the online/social media tools at their disposal
•   How to engage potential recruits and get them to pre-qualify themselves for the position
•   How to adapt and use a new mindset to attract good recruits using social media and user-generated content (UGC)
•   How to tap into the company’s public relations department and create viral focus groups
•   How to use blogging to the company’s benefit and make it more attractive to the best potential recruits
•   How to build a social media schedule and calendar

The first four-hour course runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Irvine’s Webster University campus, and costs just $199. During the first hour and a half, instructors Dan Fowler and Jennifer St. James will discuss adjusting the mindset to using social media, building a framework and creating goals. During the second part of the course, the class will use worksheets and discussion groups to brainstorm content possibilities and the instructors will provide students with a roadmap to implement their campaign in the real world.
