ALG Provides K-Span Building Solutions for Afghanistan

Feb. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- K-Span is a new construction technology for potential use as Rapidly Erectable Lightweight Mobilization Structure (RELMS). K-Span has many characteristics that would be beneficial for mobilization construction as it can be completed with short lead time and completed within only one week.

Advantages of K-span Solutions

Rapid Construction:
The self-contained manufacturing factory on wheels is capable of fabricating and assembling an entire building at the construction site. The high speed of construction and the patented process of seaming panels allow a crew of 10 to 12 workers to assemble a building in as little as a week. Construction time is shortened, since the steel buildings require no screws, bolts, fasteners, beams, trusses or columns.

Cost-Effective:
K-Span costs 40 to 60 percent less than labor-intensive conventional construction or prefabricated buildings. Using what is called Seaming Machine, there is no need for nuts, bolts or screws. This feasible solution allows manufacturing a K-Span building in a much shorter time in compare to other building solutions.

Mobile:
The self-contained manufacturing factory is designed to ease logistic support requirements.
Built with a rugged, all-terrain, road-tested trailer, which can be transported by truck or deployed by aircraft to any remote construction site.

Flexible Designs:
Structures are built to customer's unique specifications. Clear span building widths can be small or large. Building lengths and the ability to later expand a building are unlimited. Various colors of steel can also be used in K-Span to enhance the appearance of customer's buildings.
