Follow on Google News | “Applied Cost Modeling” E-Zine Now on WebSince 1994, ACM has been the mainstay for manufacturing industries in disseminating information on hot topics such as cost of ownership (COO), overall equipment efficiency (OEE), cost and resource evaluation, and discrete-event simulation.
The latest edition includes the feature article: “Cost of Ownership for c-Si Wet Processes: Texturization and Cleaning” and is presented as the first installment in a series. This paper examines the need for saw damage removal and the follow-on processes of pre-cleaning, texturization and cleaning for photovoltaic (PV) applications. Additionally, WWK’s 2012 survey on equipment and process timing in the semiconductor industry will be closing at the end of April. The survey results will be consolidated and provided to all participants free of charge. Participation in the survey is the only way to receive a full set of results. The survey form can be downloaded from the WWK web site at: http://www.wwk.com/ Further information is provided on WWK’s launch of a new total cost of ownership for energy (TCOe™) modeling platform. TCOe™ attempts to remove some of the limitations of levelized cost of energy (LCOE) with regard to revenue generation, the value of grid power displaced, and the value of power density when faced with space constraints inherent in rooftop installations. Lastly, information is provided on WWK’s March 27 presentation on operational modeling applications at the PV Fab Managers Forum in Berlin, WWK’s 20th annual COO seminar at SEMICON West/Intersolar on July12, and a new article in the 7th edition of Future Photovoltaics entitled “PV Manufacturing: With more than 3,000 users worldwide, Wright Williams & Kelly, Inc. is the largest privately held operational cost management software and consulting company serving technology-dependent and technology-driven organizations. WWK maintains long-term relationships with prominent industry resources including SEMATECH, SELETE, Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), and national labs and universities. Its client base includes nearly all of the top 20 semiconductor manufacturers and equipment and materials suppliers as well as leaders in nanotechnology, micro-electro- WWK’s product line includes TWO COOL® for detailed process step level cost of ownership (COO) and overall equipment efficiency (OEE), PRO COOL® for process flow and test cell costing, Factory Commander® for full factory capacity analysis and activity based costing, Factory Explorer® for cycle time reduction and WIP planning, and TCOe™ for energy production project costs (cost/kilowatt- # # # WWK provides software and consulting services to assist our clients in making better business decisions. The focus of our efforts is to assist our clients in improving the productivity of their manufacturing operations and reducing their per-unit costs. End
