Video Report with BASM Client DJ Eloy Makes Waves in the DJ Community

March 9, 2012 - PRLog -- The DJ industry has always been something of a mystery to those not involved in it. But for those of us who’ve dabbled in it or view it as a full time career, we understand that the industry is indeed complex. And, as technology continues to evolve, so do the various ways that DJs can manipulate media and perform at clubs and special events.

Last month, two DJs were tapped by the popular industry insider site, Remix Report, to begin offering video tutorials and reviews for VDJ products, software and the everyday challenges that face VDJs under the name Video Report. Remix Report typically provides video tutorials, reviews and interviews of popular traditional audio DJs and audio DJ equipment for other DJs (ranging from pros to novices).

Not familiar with VDJs? In its simplest form, a VDJ is a DJ who spins music videos. But for those who take it a step further, VDJing can encompass much more – video remixing, edits, mash ups, remixing on the fly (while performing) and so forth. Literally the opportunities for VDJs are large enough to make your head spin.

Already into its seventh episode, the show has interviewed Jack Millz (a prominent VDJ for SmashVision & Crooklyn Clan), covered the controversial split between Serato and Mix Emergency & has plans to interview more influential VDJs & review more products that directly effect the VDJ community.

Video Report is only a month into its airing schedule but is already becoming a fan favorite among aspiring and veteran VDJs across the country. The show is hosted by DJ Josh Carl & DJ Eloy, two respected long time VDJs who started out spinning audio on vinyl, later stepped up to CDJs, migrated to Serato SL & then made the ultimate jump to music video and creating unique video edits & mash ups. DJ Josh Carl is a member of Crooklyn Clan, former member of Strictly Hits and spins every week out of his home base Boston, MA.


DJ Eloy is a freelance video editor & remixer for sites like Promo Only, former member of Strictly Hits and spins every week out of his home base NYC. The Bronx based turntablist started spinning when he was 14, under the tutelage of his father DJ Risk who battled Grand Master Flash at local block parties. DJ Eloy has performed in Tokyo, Mexico & the Caribbean and spins at guest performances at popular venues around the country in Seattle & San Francisco.
