By: Eastern Fare Music Foundation On March 9, a song by Bangalore based musicians Jim Ankan Deka and Ritwika Bhattacharya called 'Ganga' was released online. This is the first collaboration by the duo. The song is a remake of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's popular song Ganga Behti Ho Kyun. The tune of Ganga is derived from a popular song of Paul Robeson's 'Ol' Man River'. Recorded at Eastern Fare Music Studio, a part of Eastern Fare Music Foundation, "Ganga" merges the essence of Robeson's "Ol' Man River" and Hazarika's "Ganga Behti Ho Kyun" (original song "Bistirno Parore" in Assamese). According to the musicians this song is a humble salutation to these legends. The song was released online through different portals including Facebook and iTunes on March 9, 2012. The song is available for free streaming and download at iTunes, Reverbnation and Soundcloud. The song link - http://soundcloud.com/ End
