Pilot Patty Wagstaff Joins TEENS-N-FLIGHT Board of Directors

Palm Coast, FL – Teens-In-Flight is proud to announce that six-time member of the U.S. Aerobatic team, Patty Wagstaff has joined their Board of Directors.

“We are honored that Patty has joined our board,” says director Col. Jack Howell (Ret.). “Patty brings years of flying experience to our cause and understands what we are trying to accomplish with our program and with our students,” he added.

Patty is a gold, silver and bronze medal Olympic-level international aerobatic competition winner, and is the first woman to win the title of U.S. National Aerobatic champion. She is also one of the few people to win the championship three times.

Patty flies low-level aerobatic demonstrations all over the world before millions of people each year. She moved to Japan when she was nine years old and her travels took her across Southeast Asia, Europe and to Australia. For the past ten years, Patty has traveled to East Africa to give bush, recurrency and aerobatic training to the pilots of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) who protect Kenya’s elephants, rhino and other natural resources from poachers. In 2010, Patty started flying for Cal Fire as an Air Attack pilot in the OV-10 Bronco.  Cal Fire pilots fly both the OV-10 and the S2T Tanker out of 13 different bases helping keep California safe from fires and supporting firefighters on the ground.

Patty is also supported by Microsoft and you can fly her Extra 300S that is featured on the famed Microsoft Flight Simulator. Her company, Patty Wagstaff Airshows, Inc., is based in St. Augustine, Florida.

Teens-In-Flight is a 501(C) 3 foundation formed to support the families of our military. Through the modem of aerospace education we open the doors of opportunity. Teens-In-Flight provides flight training and aviation maintenance scholarships to those teens that have lost a parent in the Global War on Terrorism or, is the teen of a parent who was wounded in action and is disabled. Another phase of the program also focuses on selected teens that are considered "at risk" within our community by providing a positive aviation intervention experience. The program could not exist without the generous donations of our partner FourStarAero, a private aviation company that donates office space, flight instructors, and the aircraft for Teens-In-Flight students. FourStarAero is owned by father and son partners Wayne and Josh Jackson. Josh is the chief flight instructor for Teens-In-Flight.
