Kangol Lauches Store at Boxpark

March 23, 2012 - PRLog -- We’ve always wanted a store in London, being that England is where the brand originated in 1938. The Pop-Up concept also worked well with the idea of moving our
pop-up space to major cities around the globe. We first began this initiative when we
opened a pop-up in Los Angeles’ hip shopping destination, Abbot Kinney, in 2008, then
in 2010 we moved the shop to its second location in The Limelight Marketplace, New York’s fashion and foodie paradise, a perfect fit for the brand. In 2011 we set our sights on London, and after learning about Roger Wade’s new retail initiative to transform an old railway yard into the world’s first pop-up mall, we knew this was the right fit and the next chapter of our retail story.

We will showcase our latest collaboration with famed street artist D*Face, along with other projects including Patta and Freshness. We also hope Bleech, the face of our AW11 campaign will perform at the space in the next few months.

The Kangol SS12 collection focuses on natural materials & functionality with protection from the elements. Kangol is pleased to announce its first season collaboration with P2i, a revolutionary liquid repellent nano-coating technology that has been added to many of the iconic Kangol shapes. As part of Kangol’s continuing earth friendly program, 100% recycled Polyester is used for our timeless Tropic hats which looks & feels the same as the current Tropic hats.

The collaboration with Aerial7 continues with spring/ summer shapes & fabrics developed to hold the Sound Disk system while protecting from the sun with cool UV coating Taslon fabrics & lightweight Bamboo.

Our Luxe collection focuses on quality and innovative craftsmanship from America and England. The Made in England styles use check patterns named after towns in Yorkshire, where the fabrics and hats are made. The hats made in the US feature natural dyes and interesting fabric combinations.
